Malta club hours and minimum age: what you need to know

Closing time is rarely the issue. What leaves people stuck outside is last entry, which at some parties comes hours before the music stops. Below you'll find each venue's usual hours, real last-entry examples, the age rules and how to get around. Every party sets its own times, so always confirm on its listing.

Updated: November 2026

The essentials

  • Usual closing time for clubs and open-air venues: 04:00.
  • Daytime pool parties finish far earlier: 20:00 or 23:00.
  • Minimum age: 17, though some parties ask for 18.
  • At the door: ID card or passport, plus your ticket on your phone.

Usual hours by venue

Closing time barely moves from one venue to another; opening time is what changes. Rooftops and sunset plans start earlier, Paceville clubs and open-air sites later, and daytime pool parties follow their own clock. Boat parties have no standard hours. These are times seen on listings rather than fixed ones, so check yours on the calendar.

  • TwentyTwo, Toy Room and Sky Club: 23:00-04:00.
  • Infinity by Hugo's: 21:00-04:00.
  • Gianpula Village: nearly always 22:00 or 23:00-04:00; the odd festival runs by day.
  • Aria Complex: 22:00 or 23:00-04:00.
  • Café del Mar: Thursday pool party, 20:00-01:00; other nights, 20:00 or 22:00-04:00.
  • Toy Room Beach Club: daytime pool parties, 10:00 or 11:00-20:00, or 13:00-23:00.

Last entry and late surcharges

A party that ends at 04:00 doesn't mean you can stroll in at 03:00. Last entry varies by party, and don't assume you can always pay your way in either: a surcharge is down to each party, not a general rule. Two real examples from listings:

  • Pool & Party: on the Gianpula rooftop, last entry is 00:30; after that, there's a €10 late-arrival surcharge.
  • The White Party: at Infinity it starts at 21:00 for the sunset, with last entry at 00:00.

What time to arrive

There's no official time. For sunset plans the point is the opening itself: 21:00 at Infinity and, at Café del Mar's Thursday pool party, try to get through the door before 22:00. If you're taking a bus, the timetable decides for you.

Big dates at Paceville clubs do fill up, so don't cut it fine on a summer Saturday. With a VIP table you'll be given an arrival time, and that's the one to stick to.

Minimum age and which ID to show

At the parties on this site the minimum age is 17, checked at the door against an ID card or passport. Some parties ask for 18, so if you're 17, read the conditions on the listing before you pay.

Carry the physical document: Gianpula and Café del Mar ask for the original, and it's the safe option everywhere. You'll show your ticket on your phone too, so make sure it has battery.

Getting there and back

If you're based in St Julian's or Sliema, the Paceville clubs are within walking distance or a quick taxi away. Aria is a short taxi ride too.

Gianpula takes more organising, though many of its parties include a bus. Pool & Party, for instance, includes a return trip from the Paceville bus stop: out between 22:00 and 23:00, back between 03:00 and 04:00. If yours doesn't include one, budget for a taxi or a taxi app and sort out the way home before you leave, especially for Café del Mar up north. More options in getting around.
