What to expect at a boat party in Malta

Most are all-inclusive: an open bar all cruise long, DJs on board and a swim stop at sea when the weather and sea conditions allow. The bigger boats have two decks with two dance floors and different vibes, and the crowd is truly international.

There's a themed edition for every taste: the White Boat Party, where an all-white outfit is a must; the Pirate Boat Party on board a wooden gulet, the Fernandes II, with sunset sailing and a swim under the stars; and the Mega Boat Party, the biggest crowd of all. In 2026, Isle of MTV week even had its own full-day boat party.

Where and when: sailing from Sliema

Nearly every boat party leaves from Sliema Ferries, on Sliema's harbour front. Evening cruises usually board around 18:30 and sail from 19:00 to 23:30 (2026 timetable), so you watch the sunset from the water and still have time to carry on in Paceville.

The season runs from May to September, with the busiest dates between late June and late August. 2027 dates are usually announced in spring. Prefer something more chilled by day? There are also cruises from Sliema to Comino and the Blue Lagoon.

Tips for booking your Malta boat party

Boats have limited capacity and the best dates go fast in July and August, so book ahead. Be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes before boarding, because the boat won't wait. After booking you'll receive the exact meeting instructions, which can change from date to date.

Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and photo ID (minimum age 17), and go all white for the White Boat Party.
