On the east coast of the Dominican Republic, the party mostly happens by day and at sunset: beach clubs with pools, DJs and views over the Caribbean Sea. It's a perfect plan for groups of friends, birthdays and celebration trips.
Last season ran from January to April, right when it's cold in Europe. If you're after sun and parties in the middle of winter, Punta Cana is a brilliant alternative.
Boat party, pool parties and White Party
The highlight is the catamaran boat party: it leaves from Huracan Beach Club on what's billed as the biggest catamaran on the island, with international DJs, games and entertainment on board, an open bar with snacks and a break to swim in the natural pools. It's strictly 18+.
For something more laid-back, Pearl Beach Club hosts a weekly pool party in the early evening, with several pools and sea views. And at Cielo Beach Club there's the White Party: everyone in white, non-stop music and a beachfront party until midnight.
Punta Cana party tickets: Elena's tips
Book early, especially for the boat party, and give yourself time on the day: you're asked to arrive about 20 minutes before the boat leaves. Bring ID and, if you're going to the White Party, pack something white. Swimwear and sunscreen are a must for the catamaran.
