Paceville: a few streets, a long night
St George's Road and the streets around it pack in bars, clubs and food at any hour. Because it's so compact, you can switch venue without a taxi, and if your group splits up it's easy to find each other again.
Clubs in the area
Each party sets its own conditions, so check hours and minimum age before heading out. For nights at Gianpula, some tickets include a bus from the Paceville stop: the event page will say.
- Toy Room: on St George's Road, with themed nights almost every day in summer.
- Sky Club: big format and a packed floor, with French and Italian parties.
- Infinity by Hugo's: a rooftop with a pool that opens earlier, made for starting at sunset.
- TwentyTwo: on the 22nd floor of the Portomaso tower, with glass walls and a dressier crowd.
Spinola Bay: the quiet side
Spinola is a small bay with colourful fishing boats, terraces all round and the LOVE sculpture everyone photographs. It's a few minutes' walk from Paceville but feels like another town.
St George's Bay: the hangover swim
It's a small sandy beach at the foot of the buildings, a step away from the party streets. In summer it fills up fast, so go early.
How it changes through the day
Mornings belong to silence, closed shutters and people hunting for coffee. Afternoons pick up around the bays and terraces, and the streets don't fill until late. At closing time the taxi apps get swamped, so walk a few streets before ordering and you'll wait less.
Who it suits
People pick this area for convenience, not beauty.
- Yes: anyone going out several nights, groups without a car and people who want to walk home from the club.
- No: if you're after a charming village or silence. The view here is towers, traffic and building sites.
