How Malta's party scene works: areas, plans and tickets

Most nights out centre on Paceville, the corner of St Julian's where clubs are a short walk apart. When the heat arrives, the party spreads across the island to open-air venues, seaside pools and boats. Here's how the pieces fit together and when to buy each ticket.

Updated: November 2026

The essentials

  • Outside summer: winter editions, Halloween and New Year's Eve.
  • Tickets: sold in batches, and the first ones cost less.
  • VIP table: booked separately, and everyone still needs a ticket.
  • What's on and when: always on the calendar.

Paceville and St Julian's: where most nights begin

Toy Room, Sky Club and the Infinity by Hugo's rooftop share a neighbourhood, and TwentyTwo is a few minutes away on foot, on the 22nd floor of the Portomaso tower. That closeness shapes how people go out: you can grab a drink at one of the nearby bars before your party, and if you're sleeping in St Julian's or Sliema you can walk or take a short taxi.

What happens in summer away from Paceville

Gianpula Village in Żebbuġ and Aria Complex in San Gwann are inland open-air sites built for very big crowds. Café del Mar is further north in St Paul's Bay (Qawra), and Toy Room Beach Club is along the Tigné waterfront in Sliema. Apart from Sliema, factor in a taxi or a bus.

Plenty of Gianpula parties come with a bus there and back from Paceville. Some don't, so read the listing first.

Six kinds of party to choose from

Each has its own hours and its own outfit, and one week can easily fit several.

  • Clubs: a room, DJs and a dancefloor until 04:00. The easy option when you just want to dance.
  • Rooftops: start at sunset, end up on the dancefloor.
  • Pool parties: by day on the seafront, as the sun drops, or after dark on a rooftop. See what's coming up.
  • Boat parties: the party heads out to sea. Departures and conditions vary, so check the boat dates.
  • Festivals: several rooms running side by side, each with a different sound.
  • Theme nights: all white, neon, French or Italian music, reggaeton.

Winter: fewer dates, but people still go out

Toy Room brings back Glow Night and Love Night on some winter Saturdays. TwentyTwo and Infinity open for one-offs like Halloween, and New Year's Eve is the other big date of the year. Since these nights are scattered, check what's on before you book the flight, not after.

Tickets: how the batches work

Each party sells in batches with names like Early Bird, First Batch or VIP. When one runs out, the next opens at a higher price, so saving money isn't about hunting for discounts, it's about buying early. Summer dates tend to come out in spring, so keep an eye on the parties.

You pay on the official sales platform, the ticket lands in your inbox straight away, and you show it on your phone at the door.

VIP tables: what to know before you ask for one

Requests go through the VIP page, and two conditions are worth knowing up front: the table doesn't include tickets, so every person in your group needs their own, and you have to turn up at the time you're given.

How to plan a party week

Pick two or three ticketed parties first and leave the other nights open. One club night in Paceville, one big open-air venue and one daytime or boat party are enough to avoid repeats.

Don't stack everything: a pool party ending at 20:00 followed by a club until 04:00 sounds great on Monday and hurts by Wednesday. And look up which nights have a theme before you pack, because the white outfit for a White Party has to leave home with you.
